As a postpartum doula, it is my desire to guide you peacefully through the many changes you may encounter with a new baby.
I provide physical, emotional and evidence-based practical & educational support for you, your spouse/partner, your newborn infant(s) and siblings. I work with each family individually to find out their particular needs and set up a planned weekly/ hourly schedule.
Some of the tasks I will perform include:

Breastfeeding support

Help with the emotional and physical recovery after birth

Light housekeeping so that mom does not feel so overwhelmed

Running errands

Assistance with newborn care such as diapering, bathing, feeding and comforting

Light meal preparation

Baby soothing techniques

Sibling care

Referrals to local resources such as parenting classes, pediatricians, lactation support and support groups.
As a Doula, I Do Not Perform the Following:
Perform any clinical tasks
As a Doula, I do not do the following; clinical tasks, such as taking blood pressure, fetal heart checks or vaginal exams. I am there to provide only physical comfort and emotional support and facilitate communication between you and the staff.
Make decisions
I do not make decisions for you. I will help you get the information you need to make an informed decision. I will also remind you if there is a departure from your birth plan.
Speak to the staff on your behalf
I do not speak to the staff on your behalf. I will discuss your concerns with you and suggest options, as well as encourage you to voice your opinions, questions and concerns to the staff.
Project any of my own beliefs onto your experience
I will not force any of my personal beliefs or opinions about how your birth should go. I also will not force my personal beliefs about how you should feed you baby, the care of you baby or any other family care.
